Lechuza appoints new Key Account Manager
One of the gardening industry’s most influential people has joined the team at Lechuza – designers of high quality self-watering plant pots.
Ian Riggs joins Lechuza as a Key Account Manager bringing with him more than 40 years of experience, and he has already kick started his arrival with a visit to gardening show GLEE.
Ian brings with him a wealth of knowledge from the gardening industry. From sitting on judging panels to being named as one of the top 50 most influential people in the gardening industry by Horticultural Week, his experience in the industry is extensive.
Ian said: “I’m delighted to be joining such an exciting brand and helping it develop and grow. This is a great challenge to really help this innovative brand thrive in the UK market.”
In his new role at LECHUZA, Ian will be overseeing all interaction with buyers for retailers across the country. Using his already vast experience, Ian will be growing existing and establishing new relationships with retailers, including premium garden centres and larger independent stores. Within the new position, Ian is also looking to build relationships with commercial growers.
Having been a member of the HTA Ornamentals Committee and the WSGA Executive Committee since 2011, Ian hopes to use this expertise and knowledge to develop and expand the LECHUZA name throughout the UK. Previous committee work involves being a member of the NFU National Horticulture & Potatoes Board and being a former Chairman of the BPOA.
