Apprentice of the year winner from Bransford Webbs…again!
The Midland Regional Growers Apprentice of the Year was awarded last week at Pershore College, and was won by Bransford Webbs apprentice Isobel Watson. Isobel, who is in the second year of her apprenticeship scheme, was presented with the award during her study week at Pershore.
“Isobel has worked very hard during her apprenticeship, and we are very proud of her achievements”, commented Karl O’Neill, Apprenticeship mentor at Bransford Webbs. “She is a very worthy winner and we are positive she has a bright future here with us”.
Isobel joined Bransford Webbs in September 2018, on the two-year scheme, working towards a level 3 crop technician apprenticeship in conjunction with Pershore College, and was one of the first students to enrol on the new course format. She has held the position of Young Plant Grower in the Propagation Unit for just over a year.
Isobel was also an IPPS Europe 6 pack award winner in 2019, which enabled her to attend the Annual Conference in Stratford upon Avon. The three-day long conference offered her the chance to attend a range of lectures and visits, as well as the opportunity to meet other growers from across Europe.
Isobel follows in the footsteps of Bransford Webbs former apprentice Thomas Everard who won the Apprentice of the Year award in 2019. Bransford Webbs has a long and successful history of apprentices, dating back to 1989, with a number of their current grower, supervisory and management staff beginning their careers in this way.
