GIMA Business Meeting – the green shoots of sales
Speakers announced for the GIMA Business Meeting on the 11th June include Gardening Buyer for the leading TV shopping channel QVC, Chris Gardener. Chris will outline to delegates the potential his company holds for suppliers of garden products and how the QVC system operates.
The beneficial effects of GIY (Grow it Yourself) are evident, but how are we going to keep this ball rolling in 2010? Roger Crookes, a member of the GCA Audit team and HTA Business Advisor; Paul Peacock, “Mr Dig-it”, author on topics of growing your own for around 30 titles each month including the Guardian; and Mark Hampshire of Allotment TV will all contribute to this discussion, which will provide some fantastic insights for suppliers to capitalise upon.
As well as updates on GLEE 2009, the day will look at how you can make your business run more efficiently through your business management system, increasing profit and turnover with Andrew Whyte from ECI Software Solutions.
As suppliers to the garden retail industry make plans for their 2010 marketing push, GIMA Director Neil Gow will also outline new initiatives for GIMA Members, including the much acclaimed New Product Digest. “This will make the meeting an ideal “think tank” for marketing personnel to attend as well as the sales and financial teams from member companies” said Jane Lawler, GIMA President.
Full details of the event at Henley-in-Arden, which is open to members and non members, can be obtained by emailing info@gima.org.uk.
