Sinclair Chairman to retire

William Sinclair, one of the UK's leading suppliers of growing media, announces that its non-executive Chairman, Bill Simpson, is to step down from his role and retire from the Board with effect from 28 September 2013.

Bill Simpson joined the Board as a non executive director in September 2004 and has served as Chairman of the Board since October 2005.

The Board is pleased to announce that Hugh Etheridge, a non-executive director, is to become non-executive Chairman from 1 October 2013. Mr Etheridge joined the Board on 1 June 2011.

Bill Simpson, non-executive Chairman, said:

"It has been a privilege to serve as Chairman during such an exciting time for the Company. The business has been transformed over the last few years and now has a clear focus on profitable growth and on delivering cost efficiency, in particular through its new flagship site at Ellesmere Port.

Hugh Etheridge, non-executive director, said:

He leaves with a clear strategy in place and a strong Executive and management team to deliver it.
