Millbrook complete their charity walk

Company: Millbrook Garden Company

Congratulations to the Millbrook Garden Company staff members who managed to walk between two of their Garden Centres, from Millbrook, Crowborough in East Sussex to Millbrook, Gravesend in Kent this Weekend.

The team made the epic, 46 mile walk over 2 days - Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September with the aim of raising money for the Company’s chosen Charity ChYps (Children and Young Peoples Service- part of EllenorLions Hospice Care).

Millbrook set a fundraising target of £4,000 which equates to the cost of running the hospice at home service for just one day.  The money is still coming in but so far the total is nearly £2,000 which is great but Millbrook are still hopeful that those aching legs and sore feet will take them nearer to the £4,000 target!

Millbrook at Crowborough was the original Garden Centre in the Millbrook stable, Millbrook owners, Dick and Sue Allen bought the Gravesend site in 1994 and realised that it would be possible to walk between the sites using part of the Weald Way but nobody has taken up the challenge until now.

ChYps is part of EllenorLions Hospices offering 24hour palliative and end of life care to children and young adults in their own home.  This means that the young patient can stay with their parents and siblings enabling families to be together through incredibly difficult times.

The Millbrook team hope that their walk will help this worthy charity.  As they get their tired legs back to work in the garden centre, they are very aware that ChYps carry on their fantastic work all day every day and hope that if anyone has been inspired to donate to this worthy cause, they will go to the just giving page at : www.justgiving.com/Millbrook-Garden-Company/
