Leading plant supplier Johnsons of Whixley enjoys open week success
Leading national plant supplier Johnsons Garden Centre Sales, part of the York-based Johnsons of Whixley Group, hosted a successful open week for plant retail customers last week.
The trusted supplier of plants and trees to garden centres across the UK secured £40,000 worth of orders at the event after inviting customers to take a tour of its 150 acre site in rural North Yorkshire. Customers including Cowells, Newbank and Scotsdales Garden Centres were able to view Johnsons’ wide range of home-grown stock.
Visiting supplier Robert Mason of Sturmer Nurseries said: “We enjoyed an excellent tour of the nursery and a most enjoyable lunch. I was very impressed with the whole set-up of the event and look forward to selling lots of lovely Johnsons’ plants this season.”
Mark Reynard, sales manager at Johnsons Garden Centre Sales commented on the success of the event: “It was great to meet our customers and take them on a tour around the site here in Whixley when the weather was kind to us.
“We had a great response from everyone who came and it gave us the opportunity to show off our new varieties and ranges which will also be on display at the HTA National Plant Show in June.
“This is only the second time we’ve hosted an event like this and I would like to thank everyone who came along - we’re really looking forward doing all again next year.”
Johnsons of Whixley is one of the longest established and largest commercial nursery businesses in Europe, and a trusted supplier of plants and trees to garden centres across the UK. Johnsons’ plants can be found in the gardens of private homes nationally.
