Latest Gardenex ‘Meet the Buyers’ event results in more export business for UK garden product firms

During a break from their one-to-one business creating meetings with British suppliers, a group of garden product buyers from Finland, Slovenia, Spain and The Netherlands are pictured with some of the suppliers and members of the Gardenex export federation team. 

The Gardenex federation, supported and funded by UK Trade & Investment, organised the ‘Meet the Buyers’ event on 27 March at Lea Marston Hotel, Sutton Coldfield.  The one-day event ran alongside a free workshop, covering the European market and Top Tips on Exhibiting.  According to early feedback, ultimately all of the buyers, who represent leading garden centres, mail order companies, wholesalers and distributors, will be dealing with some of the 28 UK company contacts made during the one-to-one business meetings arranged by Gardenex.  The Federation organises a number of ‘Meet the Buyers’ days each year, and they have proved a successful and cost-effective way of expanding export sales for UK garden, leisure and pet product suppliers.

The next Meet the Buyers event is to be held on 18 June 2014 at the Gardenex headquarters in Brasted, Kent.  To date buyers from France and Sweden have confirmed that they will be attending in order to source British made garden products.  For more information contact either Theresa Swann or Charlie Parker at Gardenex.
