General Manager at Farplants Sales Ltd appointed as a Director
Farplants Sales Ltd (Farplants) are pleased to announce General Manager, David Salisbury, appointment as a Director.
David joined Farplants from RSPCA Assured six months ago. He previously worked at training business Comera Group, Trident Medical and HCCGM.
Commenting on the appointment David said: “I am honoured to be asked to join the board as a Director. And I have very much enjoyed my first six months at Farplants and, indeed, my first six months in Horticulture. Working with so many dedicated and passionate people has been fantastic.”
Farplants is the marketing, sales and distribution wing of The Farplants Group. The co-operative group represents four West Sussex growers, each with a specialism, offering an extensive range of outstanding quality.
From small beginnings in 1972, the group now grows over 11 million plants yearly on 70 hectares (170 acres) of covered and outdoor production units. It produces over 2000 varieties and employs up to 500 staff during peak gardening through spring and early summer.
Mike Tristram, The Farplants Group Chair, said: “We’re delighted David has accepted our invitation to join the Farplants Sales Ltd board as a Director. Since he joined us in the spring as General Manager, he has introduced new ways of working to help us do even better for our customers.
David joins fellow board members Jacqui Prior (Finance) and Andy Merrick (Sales), who also became directors earlier this year and the four-member nurseries’ directors in the Farplants board. David supports a strong and experienced team, and is looking forward to 2023 and beyond.”
