Budding artist from Newtown St Boswells wins national Christmas Card Competition
A talented young artist from Newtown St Boswells has won a nationwide competition to design a Christmas card for National Garden Gift Vouchers (NGGV).
Erin, aged 11, from Newtown Primary School was picked from thousands of entries in the schools category of the competition and will see their winning design printed, displayed and sold in garden retailers across the country.
An array of colourful designs from children aged 12 and under were received, but after much deliberation from the judges, Erin’s entry was declared the national schools winner.
Erin’s winning card features a happy, colourful snowman and was posted at Milestone Garden and Leisure in Newtown St Boswells.
Erin also wins £1000 of National Garden Gift Vouchers for Newtown Primary School.
Tony Stacey, Marketing Manager of NGGV said: “We have had a phenomenal response to our “Design a Christmas Card” competition. We received hundreds of entries from all over the UK and the standard of artwork was very high. Congratulations to Erin on her winning design. We look forward to seeing it in the country’s garden centres.”
The presentation of the HTA gift voucher for Newtown Primary School and prizes for Erin will take place on Saturday 23rd November at Milestone Garden and Leisure, Newtown St Boswells at 10am.
