Andrew Weiss is BHETA's new Executive Chairman
The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has appointed respected industry figure, Andrew Weiss as its new Executive Chairman following the retirement of David Smyth.
A familiar face at BHETA, Andrew has been one of the organisation’s directors since 1998, was Chairman of DIY Committee from 2003 to 2005 and a past BHETA President from 2008 to 2010. He was also President of the Rainy Day Trust from 2014 to 2016.
Andrew began his marketing career in 1983 at Spur Shelving, then part of the Savage Group, rising to European Marketing Director, before leaving Spur in 1992 to become Managing Director of garden accessories company, Pan Products, another of the Group’s companies.
Andrew returned to Spur Shelving, now part of the McKechnie Group in 1995 as Managing Director and following McKechnie’s acquisition by Newell Rubbermaid became Director of UK Trade Sales for Swish UK in 2002. In 2003, he moved to become Managing Director of Isaac Lord, the company’s first ‘non-family’ director in 120 years. He remained with Isaac Lord until 2011, following a successful sale to new owners. Over the last five years Andrew has been running his own marketing consultancy, providing strategic management to businesses operating within the construction products sector.
