10 year old pet entrepreneur launches at Rosebourne
A launch within a launch.
The ceremonial opening of the extension to Rosebourne at Weyhill provided the opportunity for a 10 year old entrepreneur to launch his pet products.
The Hampshire garden centre has become the first to display pet products by Rory and Bean. Rory Fricker has launched a range developed with Bean, his fox red Labrador.
The spark for the idea came from a sewing project at school. “I had an idea to make Bean a neckerchief and a bow tie and they turned out rather well, so I made a few more and a few more.”
Rory realised the potential of this new skill and persuaded his mother to buy a sewing machine. “I then decided to sell these to pay off my sewing machine debt and make some pocket money, I also wanted to raise some money for animal charities.

Rory & Bean’s range now includes bandanas and bow ties for dogs, plus shampoos, cologne and a mini travel bag. All the sewing is done by himself, along with a little help of his mother.
