English garden centres to reopen on Wednesday

The BBC has quoted a senior government source saying garden centres in England will be allowed to reopen on Wednesday, if they comply with social distancing.

Garden centres must control the numbers coming into the shop to maintain 2m social distancing.  Cafés and restaurants must remain closed as must playgrounds.

The BBC says the Prime Minister will confirm this in a broadcast at 7pm on Sunday night.

The BBC’s quotes the senior government source, "Garden centres typically open large open-air spaces where the risk of transmission of coronavirus is lower.

"With strict social distancing measures in place we believe they can open safely from next week."
