Positive covid-19 test at Dobbies Ayr

Dobbies garden centre at Ayr on the West Coast of Scotland has asked anyone who visited its restaurant last Friday to be vigilant and self-isolate if they develop any symptoms of Covid-19.

It is understood that a visitor to the restaurant on Friday (Aug 21) tested positive for the virus.

Local press reports, NHS Ayrshire and Arran Test and Protect team are identifying close contacts who have been told to self-isolate for 14 days.

The garden centre and restaurant remain open, with health officials insisting “Dobbies have robust distancing and hygiene processes in place to minimise the risk of viral spread and to support Test and Protect. The risk to the public remains low."

Dobbies said, “The safety of our customers and team members is our highest priority. We have robust social distancing and cleaning processes in place, in line with Government and Environmental Health guidelines. Our team has supported the NHS with their Test and Protect procedures.
