Exciting fundraising events at all the BGC stores

Alongside the 20-mile walk and cycle challenge starting from Tring, there will be exciting fundraising events at all the BGC stores across the country.

From tombolas to cake sales, treasure hunts to balloon modelling, face painting, raffles and car washes, all 62 British Garden Centres will be taking part in Garden Re-Leaf Day.

Greenfingers Charity

The annual fundraising event was set up by Greenfingers Charity in 2012 as its flagship fundraiser that kick-starts the gardening season. The national charity builds gardens in hospices used by children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across the UK. All the Greenfingers’ gardens are unique and created to help improve life for children and families in hospices.

British Garden Centres director, Greenfingers trustee and founder of Garden Re-Leaf Day, Boyd Douglas-Davies said: “British Garden Centres has raised over £13,243.05. from Garden Re-Leaf Day in 2022, helping hundreds of families get respite and relaxation in magical outdoor spaces when they need it most.

“This year, we hope to beat that total with every store taking part on the day. Our dedicated and hardworking garden centre teams have come together to create a thriving day of activities and fundraising events across the country for Garden Re-Leaf – now the biggest charity fundraiser on the gardening calendar.

“Every penny makes a huge difference to those that use Greenfingers-funded gardens, so we are looking forward to the start of the gardening season, raising money with some fun activities and increasing awareness of the work Greenfingers do with our customers in-store.”
