Scottish GC’s could be classed essential retail
The HTA has written to members to say it understands that Scottish garden centres will be classified as essential in any tier four lockdowns.
“If this is confirmed,” the HTA claims “this is a fantastic result for our Scottish Members and will show that our work to engage with a variety of Scottish government departments has paid off.
“This stance will help support our engagement with governments across the UK to keep garden centres open in the event of future prolonged COVID lockdown action.”
From Monday 2 November each area of Scotland will be assigned to a COVID protection level. There are 5 protection levels, sometimes called 'tiers', running from tier 0 to tier 4.
In tier 4 all non-essential retail is closed (click and collect and outdoor retail permitted).
