RHS announces 10 new ambassadors

To celebrate the opening of the first May RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2019 and the millions of people gardening in the UK today the RHS is announcing 10 new ambassadors.

The RHS is excited to work with all the new ambassadors to expand and promote gardening and growing plants with wider audiences and to show it is relevant to all and wants to be even more accessible.

From expert, to beginner gardeners and everyone from all backgrounds, growing plants can have a wealth of benefits and the RHS wants to work harder to demonstrate it is here for everyone, everywhere.

The ten new ambassadors are

  1. Nicki Chapman –Nicki is a gardener who will help the RHS show you don’t have to be an expert to love gardens and growing plants
  2. Tayshan Hayden-Smith – Designing his first garden at RHS Chelsea this year, Tayshan will be an ambassador for young people and community gardening
  3. Jo Whiley – Jo will be an ambassador for keen gardeners who love to grow plants and to help the RHS reach new audiences about the joy of gardening
  4. Arit Anderson – much loved horticulturist who is passionate about the environment, Arit will be ambassador for the RHS Planet Friendly Gardening campaign and community gardening
  5. Manoj Malde – as ambassador for inclusivity, Manoj will help the RHS open its doors wider and be more accessible for all
  6. Simon Lycett – one of the UK’s best known floral artists, Simon will be an ambassador for floral art and creativity in horticulture
  7. Mark Gregory – RHS Chelsea Veteran, Mark will be an ambassador for Landscapers to raise the profile of this important area of the Horticultural Industry
  8. Sue Kent - at RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival this year, Sue will be an ambassador for inclusivity and share with the RHS ideas to be more inclusive for the disabled community
  9. Kate Bradbury – one of the UK’s best known and loved wildlife gardeners, Kate will be an ambassador for the RHS Planet Friendly Gardening Campaign
  10. James Alexander-Sinclair – as ambassador for Garden Design and to share accessible and effective tips for everyone to make the best of their outside spaces

RHS President Keith Weed said:  “It is exciting to be sharing such a fabulous line up as these Ambassadors today to join our current Ambassadors to help us spread our reach, share new ideas and get more people gardening and growing plants.”

There will be a photo call with all ten new ambassadors at RHS Chelsea Flower Show on Monday 23 May at 10.30am on the BBC Studios Our Green Planet and RHS Bee Garden.
