Honest at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show
The countdown is officially on to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024, and we think we speak for everyone in the horticultural world when we say we’re just a tad excited! We know that press day can be manic to say the least, so to help streamline your time we’ve put together which of our clients will be exhibiting at the show – and what they’ve got to show off!
We’ll be there with Alitex, Henchman, Oxenwood and Seedball – a snapshot what each of them has going on is below, and we’ll also be hosting an informal tour of our clients’ stands at 2pm on Press Day or 11am on Tuesday. If you’d like to join us, simply head over to the Oxenwood stand – we'll meet you there!
As always, if you’re interested in exclusive interviews with our clients, one-on-one tours of the stand, follow-up features, or anything in between, drop us a note on hello@honestcommunications.co.uk
Alitex creates walled kitchen garden in collaboration with The PIG
Premium greenhouse manufacturer, Alitex, is back at Chelsea for its 62nd year, and this year will be teaming up with The PIG Hotel Group to create an enchanting walled kitchen garden. Located at its usual spot on Main Avenue at stand 336, the stand is set to inspire visitors to grow from plot to plate and will be brimming with crops nurtured by The PIG’s expert growing team inside the chain’s own bespoke Alitex greenhouses.
There will be two beautiful Alitex structures to explore, including a bespoke glasshouse with an impressive double lobby entrance and the popular Mottisfont from its National Trust Collection. Expect the greenhouses to be packed with unique, upcycled accessories, and tiles, stone and panelling provided by Alitex’s partners Stark and Greensmith, Bert and May, and Westminster Stone.
On Monday afternoon, media is invited to join the Alitex team for a drinks and canapes at a nearby venue – head to the Alitex stand on the day for your exclusive invite!
Henchman celebrates 30th birthday with live topiary
At this year’s Chelsea, leading garden ladder specialist Henchman will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. To kick off the celebrations, the team will be joined by hedge and topiary specialist, Andy the Hedge Barber, who will be demonstrating live topiary on the stand throughout press day. The art, which will be created from shrubs supplied by Creepers Nursery, is set to inspire visitors throughout the show to enter Henchman’s inaugural Henchman Topiary Awards, which are open until 31st May. Find out more about the awards here!
Located on West Avenue, stand 184, visitors will also be able to browse its range of multi-award-winning Fully Adjustable Tripod Ladders, which launched last summer. The newly introduced Henchman Lifting Harness, designed to keep gardeners safe and comfortable while working by taking the weight of heavy garden tools, will also be available on the stand.
Oxenwood unveils new partnership with Hortus Loci
RHS Chelsea is a particularly special show for premium, bespoke furniture brand Oxenwood as it was a pivotal platform in the company’s growth. The brand was shortlisted for the coveted Garden Product of the Year at the 2019 show and has since become one of the leading names in luxury garden furniture.
Following a brief hiatus from the show, the brand returns this year alongside the renowned plant nursery, Hortus Loci.
The Oxenwood stand promises to provide an immersive experience to inspire visitors to transform their outdoor spaces into the perfect place to relax and entertain, with its extremely rare Belgian Bluestone taking centre stage. Located just in front of the Bull Ring Gate entrance on stand SR145, it will feature one of Oxenwood’s large format tables, the Hagen with an exquisite Belgian Bluestone tabletop, two of its other popular large format designs, the Aubrey and the Marcus, with matching benches, and two Quintus circular tables.
A new, unique addition to this year’s stand is the use of Belgian Bluestone to pave the floor.
Seedball showcases new products to get visitors growing wild
Bringing a touch of the wild to Chelsea, disruptive wildflower company Seedball is back for its second year to encourage visitors to get scattering! Its stand on EAE (Eastern Avenue) 517 will feature its latest products to launch including Lawn Flowers grab bags in collaboration with The Wildlife Trust, and new seedball boxes in collaboration with the Royal Entomological Society, so those indulging in a spot of retail therapy can stop by and stock up.
Founders Dr. Ana Atlee and Dr. Emily Lambert will also be on the stand throughout the show to talk to guests about the importance of incorporating wildflowers into the garden, both for wildlife and the environment, as well as sharing information on edible and medicinal wildflowers that can be beneficial to humans.
As well as supporting our clients at this year’s show, we can also provide commentary on Chelsea trends and expert advice on how your readers can get the Chelsea 2024 look at home.
