‘With Courage’ rose by Peter Beales Roses
Iconic Blue Peter presenters Valerie Singleton, Janet Ellis, Lindsey Russell, and Anthea Turner will take centre stage on Press Day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show to unveil the new ‘With Courage’ rose by Peter Beales Roses. This special event and rose marks the bicentenary of the RNLI, celebrating 200 years of life-saving bravery and dedication.
Renowned grower, Peter Beales Roses will debut ‘With Courage,’ a floribunda rose that symbolises the spirit of the RNLI. With its coppery orange double flowers and delightful apple fragrance, this rose took six years to perfect, ensuring it meets the highest standards of beauty and resilience. Twenty percent of all sales will benefit the RNLI, with a fundraising goal of £40,000 to support their vital life-saving missions at sea.
The launch will be a star-studded affair, with appearances by well-loved Blue Peter presenters Valerie Singleton, Janet Ellis, Lindsey Russell, and Anthea Turner. These presenters have a deep-rooted connection with the RNLI through the historic ‘Lifeboat Appeal,’ adding a poignant touch to the celebration. The event will be held at the Peter Beales stand, GPF089, in the Grand Pavilion at 1.40 pm on Press Day, May 20th, featuring a unique photo opportunity with a real RNLI rib boat and the newly unveiled rose.
Representatives from both Peter Beales and the RNLI, including RNLI Ambassador and actress Joanna Scanlon, will be present to share insights into the RNLI's life-saving efforts and the heritage of Peter Beales Roses.
Visitors to the Peter Beales stand during the show which runs from May 21st – 25th, will be captivated by a breathtaking 100-square-metre display, featuring a sea of popular rose varieties and the impressive RNLI rib boat at the heart of the exhibit. Rose-covered arches and a multitude of colourful, fragrant blooms will create an immersive, sensory experience for all plant lovers.
