Sipcam Home & Garden join peat-free initiative

Company: Sipcam Home & Garden

Sipcam Home & Garden has joined other garden industry bodies and suppliers in a new initiative aimed at helping gardeners get better results from peat-free compost and help accelerate the UK’s transition away from peat. The campaign aims to spread far and wide, new guidance from the horticultural sector on how to grow successfully using peat-free compost. Nigel Thompson, Head of Sales & Marketing at Sipcam Home & Garden commented on joining the campaign:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to support this initiative. Education is key to helping gardeners make the most of peat-free compost, and we’re passionate about providing the knowledge and tools needed for success. By working together, we can support gardeners in making more sustainable choices while ensuring their plants thrive. We can’t wait to contribute to this important movement and inspire more people to grow greener!”

The importance of going peat-free is not clear to everybody and only 30% of people with a garden say they consistently purchase peat-free options. Peat extraction is highly damaging to the environment, so it’s essential the gardening industry help growers and gardeners switch to peat-free products.

Sipcam Home & Garden has joined 18 other horticultural organisations in contributing to expert guidance led by Enrich the Earth. The migration over to peat-free compost all depends on educating gardeners and this initiative comes at the right time to help everyone in horticulture create #PeatFreeSuccess!
