Peter Beales Roses celebrates third Gold Medal of 2025
Peter Beales Roses has secured its third RHS Gold Medal of the year, awarded at the 2025 Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. This latest recognition follows earlier golds at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and BBC Gardeners’ World Live — marking a milestone year for the Norfolk-based rose grower.
The stand, located in the Rose Marquee, showcases a wildlife-friendly rose garden. Framed by rose-covered arches and a tranquil seating area, the display highlights how roses can combine ornamental beauty with vital ecological value. The stand was awarded the BEST ROSE EXHIBIT at show!
Key to the exhibit are pollinator-friendly rose varieties, chosen for their nectar-rich open blooms. At the heart of the display is ‘Linda Lee’ — a new 2025 release bred to attract bees, butterflies and hoverflies.
The exhibit also features a vibrant collection of rose hips, chosen to illustrate their role as a key winter food source for birds and mammals. Complementary elements include bug hotels, a hedgehog house, and water features designed to support garden biodiversity.
Nursery Manager Ian Limmer said: “Our third gold this year is a real honour. The response to our wildlife-themed stand shows growing interest in sustainable gardening — and roses are central to that conversation.”
