Charles Taylor reports strong growth in annual results
Leading UK manufacturer of wooden outdoor furniture and award-winning grow-your-own products, Charles Taylor, is reporting significant growth in its latest annual results, with turnover increasing by 32% and its balance sheet growing by around 40%.
From humble beginnings 15 years ago, the Staffordshire-based business has grown substantially and firmly established itself as a leading manufacturer within its product sectors. All Charles Taylor products continue to be manufactured in the UK.
The company made significant inroads into the garden retail market with the launch of its £99 UK-manufactured bench — a product that continues to prove popular with retailers and consumers. Charles Taylor is currently manufacturing more than 3,000 pieces per week.
The strong performance has continued into the new financial year, with turnover in the first quarter also ahead, providing further encouragement despite challenging trading conditions.
Richard Ball, Director at Charles Taylor, said: “Taking into account the tricky trading conditions, increased costs and the indifferent weather we experienced during the early season, these results are truly amazing.”
As the business continues to grow, Charles Taylor has further expanded its storage and distribution network, adding a fourth site. The additional capacity will help the company improve delivery speeds during the busy season and support its continued growth.
The company also exhibited at Glee last week, receiving strong feedback from both existing and prospective customers.
“Glee was a fantastic opportunity to meet with customers old and new,” added Ball. “We received some tremendous feedback and are really looking forward to working with our customers and building on these relationships into next season.”
