Taste of the West Awards celebrate excellence

The Taste of the West Awards returned in style at Exeter’s Westpoint Arena, bringing together producers, retailers, hospitality businesses and industry leaders for an evening dedicated to regional excellence.
The ceremony showcased the depth of talent across the South West, from innovative startups to established brands, highlighting a shared commitment to quality, sustainability and craftsmanship.
Guests enjoyed a carefully curated menu featuring award-winning produce, including cheeses, charcuterie and creative canapés made from finalist ingredients, reinforcing the connection between awards and real culinary achievement.
Awards were presented across multiple categories, recognising Champion producers, Hospitality and Retail Champions, Sustainability Champions and a Social Media Champion, reflecting the breadth of the sector.
Top honours went to Boscastle House B&B, which won the No.1 Place to Go Award, and The Gamekeepers Larder for its Supreme Champion Product, a whole sika venison haunch.
Taste of the West director Charles Baughan praised the winners for their innovation and passion, noting that they represent the very best of what the South West has to offer.
The organisation also paid tribute to its founding partners, whose support enabled Taste of the West to relaunch as a Community Interest Company and secure its long-term future.
Operating as a CIC, Taste of the West reinvests its income into the region, ensuring that the awards continue to champion local businesses and strengthen the South West’s reputation as a world-class food and drink destination.
