Tickets now on sale for Poinsettia Conference 2026
Tickets are now on sale for the British Poinsettia Growers Group Conference, taking place on Thursday 19 November 2026 at its new venue, Volmary, Wisbech St Mary.
Now in its fifth year, the conference brings growers, breeders and suppliers together for its annual programme of technical presentations, variety trials and industry discussion. It provides an opportunity to view poinsettia varieties, hear from breeders and technical specialists, and catch up with colleagues.
The programme is being finalised, with planned topics including a European perspective on growing media, developments in pest detection, energy from a grower’s perspective and retailer expectations. Sessions will focus on practical considerations for poinsettia production, with the full programme to be announced ahead of the event.
Variety trials
Variety trials will remain a central part of the day, with red poinsettias and novelty varieties from Beekenkamp, Dümmen Orange, Selecta One and Volmary on display. Representatives from all four breeders will introduce their varieties, and attendees will have the opportunity to view the plants and vote for their favourites in the best red poinsettia and best novelty categories. The winners will receive the Harry Kitchener Awards, kindly sponsored by Bulrush.
An exhibition area will give attendees the opportunity to meet suppliers and discuss their production needs. Exhibitors confirmed to date include OMEX Agriculture, Hortifeeds, Royal Brinkman UK Ltd and Ebtech Glasshouse Systems Ltd.
Sponsorship
Conference sponsors confirmed to date include Selecta-One UK Ltd, Beekenkamp Plants, Volmary, ICL, Dümmen Orange and H L Hutchinson. The Group is particularly grateful to these businesses and to Bulrush for their support, which helps make the conference possible and keeps attendance affordable for growers. Special thanks also go to the Volmary team for hosting the event and their work in preparing the variety trials.
Exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Businesses interested in supporting the conference or exhibiting on the day should contact poinsettia@britishornamentals.org for details.
Organised by the British Poinsettia Growers Group, part of the British Ornamentals Association, the conference is open to members and non-members.
Early bird non-member delegate tickets are £40, including lunch, and are available through Eventbrite. Delegates should book before 30 September 2026 to take advantage of the early bird rate.
Poinsettia Growers Group members receive one free ticket per member business and should contact the office at poinsettia@britishornamentals.org for their booking code.
