RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show returns for 2021
The RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show is back for 2021 with thousands of beautiful plants for sale, magnificent floral displays to enjoy and an engaging programme of talks and demonstrations in the recently-open RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science.
With 50 specialist nurseries and growers in attendance at the show, shoppers will be truly spoilt for choice. From late summer blooms and heritage vegetables to trees and shrubs for gardens of all sizes, an endless variety of top quality plants will be for sale, and leading growers on hand throughout with expert advice. In addition, 20 trade stands will be exhibiting everything from professional tools and garden furniture to outdoor sculpture and stylish home accessories.
New for 2021, RHS Hilltop will host a series of varied and fascinating talks and demonstrations alongside the permanent exhibition. A line-up of experts including gardening influencer Ellen Mary, master peony grower Alec White, garden historian Advolly Richmond and TV presenter Mr Plant Geek are among the hosts of daily talks.
A returning show highlight is the dazzling display in the National Dahlia Society Show marquee, with more than 100 competition classes of this popular late-summer bloom. A selection of unusual cultivars will be available to buy, and the friendly experts from the National Dahlia Society will be on hand with expert tips.
The People’s Choice dahlia competition returns for 2021, with gardeners invited to bring single stems of dahlias of any type they have grown to the marquee by 12.30pm on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September to be judged for a range of prizes. For those eager to compete in future competitions, this year’s show will also include a collection of garden and decorative dahlias to highlight how easy they are to grow at home.
In the floral art marquee, talented local flower arrangers from Surrey NAFAS go head-to-head to create breathtaking displays to be judged by the experts. Visitors will also have a chance to vote for their favourites, with the 2021 theme across the 8 classes revealed as ‘On the Crest of a Wave’ – expect to be transported to distant shores and underwater worlds by this year’s designs.
A wide selection of food and drink options will be available from more than 10 outlets across the garden, including a show-exclusive menu available at The Terrace Restaurant. Visitors will also be able to enjoy locally-produced sparkling wine from Albury Vineyard, Silent Pool gin cocktails and organic ice cream on the Sky Terrace at RHS Hilltop for the first time ever (weather dependent).
Admission to the RHS Garden Wisley Flower Show is free to RHS Members, normal garden admission applies to non-members. Advance booking is essential for all visitors. For further information, including how to book tickets and travel advice, visit: www.rhs.org.uk/wisleyflowershow.
