HTA welcomes new members to its Retail Management Group

Chair of HTA’s Retail Management Group, Caroline Owen of Scotsdales Garden Centre, said “We are delighted to welcome both Philip and Iain to the group. With Philip’s wide knowledge of retail management in food and other non-gardening businesses and Iain’s extensive experience from within the garden centre sector their involvement will really help strengthen our representation across the industry.

The Retail Management Group, which meets three times a year, includes representatives from businesses of all sizes ranging from the major garden centre groups to retail nurseries. It is the HTA’s main retail committee and provides a forum for looking at issues effecting the garden retail environment and drives forward initiatives to benefit HTA retail, grower and garden products supplier members.

The Retail Management Group has initiated the HTA’s ‘The Route to Growth’ strategy for garden retail and oversees implementation of the association’s Retail Action Plan. The Retail Management Group is supported by a wider ‘virtual group’ of members who contribute to the formulation of policy and initiatives by email.

Copies of ‘The Route to Growth’ strategy can be downloaded from the HTA website www.the-hta.org.uk.
