HTA showcases British horticulture at Europe House

Horticultural Trades Association showcased UK environmental horticulture at the first Flowers and Plants of Europe event at Europe House.
The Horticultural Trades Association has showcased UK environmental horticulture at the first Flowers and Plants of Europe event held at Europe House.
Working with European and international associations, the HTA helped coordinate the landmark event, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and businesses from across the horticulture supply chain.
The showcase highlighted the value of environmental horticulture, from plants, bulbs, seeds and trees to the wider supply networks that support the sector.
HTA members including Crocus, Franchi Seeds, Joseph Rochford Gardens, Taylors Bulbs, Provender Nurseries and Westland Horticulture supplied products for the exhibition.
The event was hosted by the European Union Delegation to the UK and featured speeches from Pedro Serrano and Emma Bourne.
A panel discussion and reception focused on shared challenges such as cross-border trade, supply chain resilience and the environmental and economic benefits of plants and green spaces.
Jennifer Pheasey, HTA Director of Policy and Public Affairs, said the event helped highlight the importance of horticulture and the opportunities stronger UK-EU cooperation could bring.
She added that the sector needs swift action on trade and supply chain issues, including an ambitious SPS agreement with the EU and measures to ease border pressures for growers and suppliers.
