GCA adds new online food safety course

Company: The Garden Centre Association

The Garden Centre Association (GCA) has launched its 98th online course, Food Safety Level 3, on its award-winning GROW e-learning platform.

Released on October 6, 2025, the course is designed for supervisors and managers responsible for food safety in garden centres. It complements existing Level 1 and 2 courses and covers food safety management, legislation, and supervisory skills through 11 practical modules.

The GROW platform, now serving over 12,000 users across the UK, is accessible to both GCA and Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) members. Priced at £49 +VAT per learner, the course aims to help businesses meet legal requirements and maintain high standards.

GROW is a self-funding, non-profit initiative, with all surpluses reinvested into development. The GCA represents over 200 garden centres and continues to support staff training and development, with annual awards for excellence and a forthcoming 2026 conference.
