Colegrave Seabrook Foundation appoints Stuart Lowen as New Chair
The Colegrave Seabrook Foundation, the UK’s only registered charity dedicated to supporting students in horticulture and ornamental plant production, has announced the appointment of Stuart Lowen as its new Chair of Trustees. Lowen, recently retired as Marketing Manager at Ball Horticulture, succeeds Jeff Colegrave, who led the board for over 30 years.
The announcement was made during a trustee meeting at Kew Botanic Garden, coinciding with what would have been the 100th birthday of the Foundation’s namesake, David Colegrave.
Lowen praised the Foundation’s strong position and ongoing industry support, emphasizing its role as the “go-to” provider of financial aid for aspiring horticulturists.
Two new Scholarships
The 2026 scholarship season will launch at the end of this month. The popular Smart Garden Products Student Scholarship and the Wyevale Nurseries Scholarship, which was launched for the 2025 season, will continue.
Two new scholarships will be added to those supported by Ball Horticulture, British Ornamental Association, The Royal Society of Biology, The Crispa/Cahn Family and the Worshipful Company of Gardeners. Both will provide financial and practical support to students learning their craft of horticulture.”
