David Williams, Wyevale Nurseries’ new Production Development Manager
Wyevale Nurseries appoints David Williams to strengthen production, support sustainable growing, develop plant ranges and drive future growth amid changing customer and market demands.
WYEVALE Nurseries has appointed David Williams as its new Production Development Manager, supporting the Hereford-based company’s continued investment in growth, innovation and horticultural excellence.
The newly created senior leadership role will focus on the nursery’s growing operations, sustainable production techniques and long-term development as customer and market requirements evolve.
David will report directly to Managing Director Andy Johnson and work with heads of all divisions to identify technical challenges and opportunities across production. He will also help develop growing techniques and plant ranges in response to climate change and changing market demands.
Andy Johnson said: “This new appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to developing the business, enhancing our growing operations and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
“It will also allow me to spend more time working alongside our sales, trading and despatch teams as we move the business forward.”
The role will strengthen collaboration across Wyevale Nurseries’ growing departments, support specialist production teams and help maintain production and service standards across the business.
David joins from Frank P. Matthews, where he was Container Unit Manager. His previous horticultural roles include Dingle Nurseries, Deepdale Trees and Lambs Flowers, giving him experience in field production, container-grown stock, semi-mature trees and large-scale crop production.

Originally from Berriew and now living in Highley, David studied at Welshpool High School and Walford and North Shropshire College. He is engaged to be married next year and recently became a father.
