The Coolings Three Peaks Team arrived safely back in Knockholt

Company: Coolings Nurseries Ltd

On 3rd July, I along with a dozen of my colleagues from Coolings, flew to Glasgow and climbed the highest mountain in Scotland, Ben Nevis. It was climbed in ideal weather conditions which gave us a head start.  Then once were back down we hopped into a minibus and headed South to climb the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike.  This mountain had to be climbed in the hours of darkness accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds.  We then travelled West to climb the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon.  Although the smallest of the three, this proved quite a challenge for aching legs and sleepy heads but we did it – smiles all round and only a few blisters!  All in all the Coolings Team of twelve climbed up 11,000 feet (and climbed down again) and walked over 26 miles all within 24 hours and that included driving between the peaks too.

Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to sponsor us and send messages of support - you know who you are!   With a number of pledges still to come in, the total raised so far is likely to be in excess of £13,000.  If you had intended to sponsor us but have not yet done so, the website is still active go to www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/coolingsthreepeaks.  We’re still hopeful of reaching £15,000 so anything you can give will be gratefully received and put to very good use by the team at Harris Hospiscare.  Any amount you can give will be put to very good use – even small amounts add up to make big amounts - and don’t forget that the very generous taxman will add 25% if you tick the gift-aid box.

Harris Hospicecare aims to improve people’s lives by providing care in their own homes, for those who have debilitating illness or are nearing the end of their lives.  For fuller details of how Harris operate and the care they provide please see www.harrishospicecare.org.uk.

Thank you again for your help.
