Strikes Garden Centres is pleased to announce the internal promotion of three new directors to its board, reflecting the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and industry expertise.

Andy Smith has been appointed Buying Director, bringing over 30 years of experience in horticulture and garden centre retail. Starting his career at Blakedown Nurseries in 1989 and later studying at Pershore College of Horticulture, Andy went on to hold senior roles at St Peters Garden Centre, Wyevale, and Dobbies, before joining Strikes in 2015.

Anthony Hester joins as Catering Director, with more than three decades of experience in the hospitality sector. He has held leadership roles with Mitchells & Butlers and Whitbread and was most recently Food and Beverage Director at Wyevale, following his position as Head of Restaurants at Dobbies. He joined Klondyke in 2023.

Also joining the board is Lewis Gault, grandson of Strikes’ founders Bob and Dorothy Gault. Lewis oversees Klondyke Farms, which spans 3,000 acres, a herd of 1,500 cattle, and woodland development projects.

All three directors expressed pride in their appointments and a shared commitment to supporting the company’s long-term vision and growth.
