Steve Harper to leave Southern Trident for Grass Gains
Steve Harper is to leave Southern Trident to join Grass Gains, a rapidly growing recent entrant to the grass care market.
Harper, the CEO of Southern Trident, leaves at the end of March after 4 1/2 years in the role. He has been a leading voice in responsible sourcing, sustainable gardening, and driving new product development.
His leadership at Southern Trident saw the company establish itself as a major player in the peat-free growing media market, and his work as chair of the Responsible Sourcing Scheme has been instrumental in shaping sustainable practices across the industry. He plans to continue as RSS chair.
Grass Gains has quickly established itself as a disruptor in the lawncare sector. Its products were developed for rescuing lawns in the professional market. The phrase "like protein for lawns" is used to describe how their products work, as they provide essential nutrients, like how protein helps with muscle growth and recovery for humans but instead to bulk up the lawn.
Steve Harper expressed his determination to take Grass Gains to the next level, “I am incredibly excited to be joining Grass Gains at such a pivotal moment for the business. The team is bringing a fresh, whole new approach to lawncare that resonates with modern UK gardeners who want effective, sustainable solutions. I look forward to working with the team to build on their success, grow the brand, and continue to make a real impact in the market.”
Rob Landymore co-founder of Grass Gains, welcomed Steve’s appointment, “Having Steve on board is a huge step forward for Grass Gains. His experience, industry insight, and passion for sustainable innovation will be invaluable as we continue to expand.”
Henri Lansbury Co-Founder of Grass Gains added, “Steve’s leadership will be crucial in driving the business forward over the coming months and years.”
