SGD Lifetime Achievement Award for Dan Pearson OBE FSGD

The Society of Garden Designers (SGD) is pleased to announce that acclaimed garden and landscape designer Dan Pearson OBE FSGD has received the SGD Lifetime Achievement Award for 2025.

This prestigious award was presented at the SGD Awards ceremony in London, recognizing Dan’s remarkable career and his significant contributions to garden and landscape design. Dan Pearson is celebrated for his intuitive design approach and ability to blend landscapes with their natural environments. His notable projects include the Tokachi Millennium Forest in Japan, Maggie’s Centre in London, and Delos at Sissinghurst, all reflecting his commitment to sustainable design that connects people with nature.

SGD Chair Andrew Duff MSGD remarked, "Dan Pearson’s contribution to garden design is extraordinary, transforming landscapes and redefining our relationship with nature. His work serves as a powerful reminder of our profession's role in connecting people to the natural world."

Dan expressed gratitude for the award, stating, "To be awarded the SGD Lifetime Achievement Award is a huge privilege. I feel like I've only just got started and have another lifetime to play with."

The Lifetime Achievement Award honours individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the landscape and garden design field. Previous recipients include notable figures like Penelope Hobhouse and Piet Oudolf. Last year's award went to James Hitchmough.
