Sarah Raven achieves Planet Mark certification

Company: Sarah Raven

This Earth Day, Sarah Raven is celebrating achieving Planet Mark accreditation. This certificate acknowledges the business’ ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and is a recognised symbol of progress in sustainability. By 2050, every UK business must achieve net zero status by law, and Planet Mark supports the successful transition to a net zero world.

Gardening expert, author, and founder of the business, Sarah Raven said, “This accreditation comes at the perfect time, with Earth Day coming up on 22nd April, an annual event that demonstrates support for environmental protection. Sustainability is one of the key principles of the Sarah Raven brand, and we’re incredibly proud to have received this certification. We have worked very hard to meet the criteria and hope to encourage other businesses to make the same commitment.”

Planet Mark accreditation provides assurance of a company’s commitment to continuous improvement in environmental, social, and economic performance. In addition, it shows a promise to measure and reduce its carbon footprint on an annual basis and to engage with employees on environmental issues and how improvements can be made.

Since the launch of Planet Mark in 2013, the organisation has been on a mission to empower change for a brighter future. Planet Mark’s accreditation process measures all factors of a business, providing the insight needed to make informed decisions about when and how each organisation will make the transition to a net zero model. Planet Mark also educates and inspires employees and business owners to act as a catalyst for behavioural change.

Sarah adds, “Celebrating our Planet Mark Certified Business status is a huge moment for us, and we’re delighted to be making further progress to reduce our carbon footprint. Planet Mark not only supports and educates us as a team, but also helps us to create operational efficiencies, that help to streamline everything we do.”
