Peter Rush is new Sinclair CEO as Burns steps down

Company: William Sinclair

Peter Rush is the new CEO of William Sinclair. He succeeds Bernard Burns who resigned as a director at the end of March.

Mr Burns will remain a part time employee of the Company, with specific responsibility for progressing the Company's negotiations with Natural England for compensation for the Bolton Fell bogs and manufacturing facilities.

Commenting on Peter’s appointment, Chairman Bill Simpson said " We are disappointed that Mr Burns has decided to retire but we understand his reasons and we wish him and his family all the very best for the future. In Peter Rush we have an experienced Managing Director with considerable operational and commercial skills significant and relevent:experience with another major supplier to the horticulture industry. We believe the mix of these skills and his managerial qualities makes him the ideal candidate to succeed Mr Burns and continue to progress the business's agreed strategies. “

Peter started his career with a number of operational and general management positions with Ancon Clark, Rawplug and Baxi before joining Hozelock as Operations Director in 2003. 4 years later he was appointed Group Managing Director with a specific task to develop and implement a strategic plan to deliver added value for CVC, the Company's Private Equity shareholders. Peter left Hozelock in late 2011 and established his own consultancy business, Effectivise, working most recently with the Binding Site Group.
