HTA Benevolent Fund appoints Caroline Owen as Trustee
The HTA Benevolent Fund is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Owen of Scotsdales to its Board of Trustees following the 2016 Annual General Meeting.
Having started her career in John Lewis, Sainsburys and BUPA, Caroline Owen joined the family owned business Scotsdales in 1982. Caroline has spent the last 30 years developing the company into a £20m pound business adding two smaller centres to the large Cambridge centre in the last five years. Caroline is a former President of the HTA and a former member of the HTA Board of Directors. She is currently Chairman of the HTA Marketing Committee and is also a trustee of Greenfingers.
Caroline will sit alongside fellow Board members: Chairman, Andrew Richardson of Johnsons of Whixley, and Vice Chairman Dougal Philip of New Hopetoun Gardens, as well as Tim Woodland of Simple Pleasures, a bulb wholesaling company, Robert Hillier of Hillier Nurseries, Tom Wood of Oakover Nurseries, and Eddie Topping of Barton Grange Garden Centre.
Chairman of the HTA Benevolent Fund, Andrew Richardson, says, “HTA Benevolent Fund is delighted to welcome Caroline as a new Trustee who brings with her a wealth of industry experience as well as a long standing history with the HTA and its members. This combination will greatly assist the charity in how best to offer support”.
The HTA Benevolent Fund was set up by the HTA to care for the welfare of its members past and present. Recent years have seen the support of several members with grants to assist them in difficult circumstances.
