Help British Garden Centres’ Phillippa Stubbs as she takes to the skies for charity
It’s not long now until Phillippa Stubbs takes to the skies standing on the top wing of a vintage Boeing Stearman bi-plane and flying through the air at speeds of around 135mph all to raise money for Greenfingers Charity.
Phillippa, who is the director of the largest family-run group, British Garden Centres will be taking to the skies strapped to the wings on top of the aircraft for the challenge of a lifetime.
Phillippa will be one of the garden industry daredevils to do the adrenaline-fuelled wing walk on July 5th with the Superaerobatics team. Her journey will start in the Gloucestershire countryside where the plane will take off from Rendcomb Airfield, Cirencester before climbing to reach heights of 700ft. There it will perform flypasts, zoom climbs, steep dives, and banks in front of supporters.
She is appealing for sponsorship from both industry colleagues and suppliers in aid of Greenfingers Charity, which builds magical gardens and outdoor spaces for life-limited children and their families to enjoy.
Philippa said: “I am very excited about the prospect of the wing walk and would like to thank everyone for their generous donations so far. This will be a really nerve-wracking experience and I hope people will get behind me and the wing walking team and donate whatever they can to help Greenfingers carry on their work building gardens for the hospices providing vital care and support to local children and families.”
Phillippa will soar above the clouds with a number of key names from the industry including Lukasz Kulisa (AMES), Katy Thompson, Sam Jarvis and Poppy Jarvis (STV International), Lowri Walker (SBM Life Science) and Kimberley Hornby (Hornby Whitefoot PR)
