Hayloft Plants appoints new chairman

Worcestershire based Hayloft Plants Limited, the specialist direct marketing young plants business has appointed Martin Harvey as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman.

Hayloft is now structuring its business to consolidate and provide additional resources to maintain its dominant position, selling plants through media inserts and advertisements, catalogues and online. The business was founded in 1992 by Managing Director Yvonne Walker, selling rare and unusual garden plants by post, from her kitchen table.  

Harvey is well known in horticultural direct marketing circles, having been an International Director at Europe’s biggest garden catalogue company Bakker Hillegom BV, then turning round the Marshalls and Unwins direct marketing seeds and plants businesses to achieve continued high growth performances.

Martin was recruited through the specialist recruiter MorePeople, who focus on horticulture and the land-based sectors, and are experts in sourcing high calibre candidates for non-execs roles and other main board appointments.
