Dougal Philip to become RHS Vice president

New Hopetoun garden centre owner, Dougal Philip, is to become a vice-president of the Royal Horticultural Society.

He is managing director of Dougal Philip Ltd which runs New Hopetoun Gardens, near Edinburgh.

Garden retail is also represented among the RHS vice presidents by Robert Hillier, John Ravenscroft who sold Bridgmere Nurseries to Wyevale and Richard Webb who set up Webbs of Wychbold.

Dougal is also chairman of the trustees of Perennial, the Gardener’s Royal Benevolent Society.
