Changing of the guard at Squire’s
Dennis Espley retires this week after a distinguished career lasting 30 years at Squire’s.
He started as garden centre director and became managing director as the group acquired more sites becoming an important regional group. He was also chairman of the Garden Centre Association in 2011-12.
Espley will retain his links with the industry. In June he becomes chairman of the Tillington Group, the buying and marketing group for larger garden centres and he is a council member for the RHS.
He also plans to be involved with a couple of horticultural charities. On 19th June he will be driving his beloved HMC Mk IV at the Greenfingers Classic Car Rally, starting at Studley Green Garden Centre.
Martin Breddy takes up his post at Squire’s on Monday 16th of May.
