CBE for Alan Titchmarsh in NY Honours
HM The King’s New Year Honours List 2025 recognises unsung heroes who have made outstanding contributions to their communities across the UK.
More than 1,200 recipients received honours this year across all sectors. Gardenforum has identified six people from Environmental horticulture to have been recognised, led by the industry champion Alan Titchmarsh.
The horticulturalist, author and broadcaster, Alan Titchmarsh, MBE, has been elevated to CBE, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to Horticulture and to Charity.
Professor Rosemary Collier, Professor of Life Sciences, University of Warwick, has been made OBE for services to Horticultural Science and the Technologies of Pest Control.
Mark Fane, a director of Crocus.co.uk, has received an MBE. He has recently stepped down from being chair of the Garden Museum board of trustees for 12 years. His award is for services to Horticulture. The same award has been made to Susan Medway, Director and Curator, Chelsea Physic Garden for services to Horticulture and to Charity.
Peter Hulatt earned the British Empire Medal for services to the Camden Garden Centre Charitable Trust.
Yorkshire flower farmer, Gill Hodgson, has been awarded an MBE for Services to Floristry. Gill is the founder of Flowers from the Farm, an award-winning association championing artisan growers of local, seasonal, British cut flowers, and of The Farewell Flowers Directory, an online listing service that aims to remove plastic floral foam from the funeral industry by connecting people to florists who offer fully compostable funeral flowers.
