Applications open for the 2026 LSA Fellowship Scheme Cohort

The LSA Charitable Trust (LSA CT) has opened applications for the 2026 cohort of its prestigious Fellowship Scheme, seeking the next generation of leaders in the UK horticulture industry. Applications opened on 1 September 2025 and close on 31 October 2025.
The Fellowship Scheme is designed to nurture emerging leaders and safeguard the future of UK horticulture. Supported by the NFU, British Growers Association, Horticultural Trades Association, and the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, the two-year programme provides Fellows with unrivalled opportunities to broaden their industry knowledge and leadership skills.
Participants gain direct exposure to the breadth of the commercial horticulture sector, including the crucial role played by trade bodies, crop associations, and key stakeholders in shaping the industry’s direction and influencing government policy. Fellows will also attend national conferences, industry events, and sector study tours, experiences that often lie beyond the scope of day-to-day roles.
In addition, Fellows benefit from access to the latest horticultural research, enabling them to understand its impact and potential application within the sector. Each Fellow receives a £3,000 bursary to support them throughout the programme, which begins on 1 January 2026.
Martin Emmett, LSA Trustee and Chair of the NFU Horticulture and Potatoes Board, said: “The Fellowship Scheme offers a unique opportunity for emerging professionals to broaden their horizons. It provides direct exposure to the organisations, research, and policy discussions that shape the future of UK horticulture. For many, it becomes a springboard into leadership, equipping them with the networks, insight, and confidence to make a lasting contribution to our industry.”
The scheme is open to new entrants and developing managers on a professional management pathway within commercial UK horticulture. For full details and to apply before the 31 October 2025 deadline, visit www.lsactfellowship.org or contact admin@britishgrowers.org
