Sales grow at Notcutts, Haskins, Forest Garden and Gardman

Ball Horticultural Europe held sales at £21.5m. Profits increased for the third year to £1.9m. Year end Sep 07.
Sales at Barcham Trees increased 21% to £5.1m with profits increasing to £393k. Y/e Apr 08.
Profits at Darby Nursery Stock fell to just £3k for the year ending Jan 08.
Roundstone Nurseries increased profits to £1.3m. Y/e Dec 07.
Sales at Syngenta Seeds topped £25m for the first time. Profits dropped sharply to £131k for 2007.

Suppliers / Manufacturers
Sales at Alexander Rose fell 6% to £13.1m, profits fell 74% to £267k. Y/e Aug 08.
Countax published sales of £24.8m with profits of £212k for y/e Jul 08.
Desch Plantpak showed a loss of £1.6m on sales of £13.2m in 2007.
Forest Garden increased sales to £50.5m, showing a profit of £433k. Forest Garden Group showed a loss of £549k for your ending Dec 07.
Sales increased 12% for Gardman Holdings to £74m. Profits increased to £9.3m. Y/e Jan 08.
Turnover was static at Haddonstone at £12.7m. Profits fell to £30k. Y/e July 08.
Sales and profits recovered at Hozelock to £49.7m and £1.3m respectively for y/e Sep 07.
Oase (UK) saw profits fall back to £505k for the year to Sep 08.
Turnover fell 12% at Parlane International to £7.6m. Losses increased to £1m. Y/e Dec 2007

Garden Centres / Retailers
Bents Garden Centre grew sales 17% to £11.2m. Profits declined for the third year running, to £292k. Y/e Jan 08.
Burford Garden Centre increased profits to £787k for y/e Jan 08.
By-Pass Nurseries declared a loss of £126k for 2007.
Turnover at Country Homes and Gardens grew 47% to £16.8m. Losses increased to £397k. Y/e Dec 07.
Profits at DJ Squire & Co increased to £2.3m on sales of £28.8m. Y/e Jul 08.
Haskins Garden Centres increased sales to £24.6m. Profits increased by 24% to £2.5m. Y/e Feb 2008.
Notcutts returned to profits - £297k and increased sales to £41m for y/e Aug 07.
Turnover increased to £10.2m at Park Garden Centre. Profit increase sharply to £652k. Y/e Aug 08.
Poplars Nursery Garden Centre increased profits to £436k for y/e Feb 08.
Stapeley Water Gardens showed slightly reduced profits at £220k for y/e Dec 07.
Summerhill Nurseries increased turnover to £3.8m and profit to £263k. Y/e Sep 07

Other
The online garden centre, Crocus, increased sales by 18% to £8.4m. A profit of £35k ended years of losses. Y/e Oct 07.
Decco returned to the black in 2007 with profits of £217k on sales that were £48m lower than the year before at £80m.
Wholesaler, Home Hardware Southwest, lost £102k on sales of £21.2m. Y/e Jun 08.
Profits at Rochford Garden Machinery increased to £480k for y/e Nov 07.
Sales at the Edinburgh Woollen Mill grew slightly to £148m. Profits fell slightly to £23.5m. Y/e Feb 08.
