Golf day boosts Greenfingers Kilimanjaro fundraising total

Company: Greenfingers

A charity golf day has given Greenfingers Charity's Kilimanjaro fundraising campaign another welcome boost, taking the total raised to more than £244,000.

The event, held at Ombersley Golf Club on 23 June and organised by Phil Dutton of Autograph Finance, brought together supporters from the horticultural and financial sectors to raise additional funds following the recent Mount Kilimanjaro challenge.

Greenfingers Charity Ambassador Bob Marley was among the 23 industry participants who completed the climb, alongside representatives from companies including Woodlodge, Sipcam, The Gardens Group, New Leaf Plants, Team Max Foundation, Dobsons, Woodmansterne, Blue Diamond and British Garden Centres.

Throughout the golf day, members of Team Greenfingers shared stories from the challenge and highlighted the impact that Greenfingers gardens have on children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Funds raised will support the creation of another Greenfingers garden, providing outdoor spaces where hospice families can spend valuable time together away from clinical surroundings.

Phil Dutton said the golf day was an opportunity to celebrate the team's achievement while maintaining fundraising momentum after the Kilimanjaro expedition.

Greenfingers Charity Chairman Boyd Douglas-Davies praised the commitment of the climbers and supporters, describing the fundraising total as an outstanding achievement.

The charity also thanked Ombersley Golf Club, event sponsors SJL Insurance Services, goody bag sponsor Lockett & Co, and everyone who attended or donated.

With donations continuing to arrive, Team Greenfingers is now closing in on its next milestone of £250,000.
