GARDENA supports new Wellbeing Garden at Royal Oldham Hospital

A new wellbeing garden has officially opened at The Royal Oldham Hospital, with support from gardening brand GARDENA.
The garden transforms the former Fountain Garden, a much-loved hospital landmark dating back to the 1930s, into an accessible, wildlife-friendly space for patients, families, staff and visitors.
Opened on October 21, the project was delivered through a partnership between Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, NorthCare Charity and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
GARDENA supported the project by donating gardening tools and providing employee volunteers to help with planting.
The redesign, led by award-winning landscape designer and RHS Ambassador Adam Frost, features new seating, climate-resilient planting, fruiting trees, shrubs and pollinator-friendly species.
Rebecca Robertson, Senior Digital Marketing Specialist at GARDENA, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in bringing The Royal Oldham Hospital’s new wellbeing garden to life. It has been fantastic to support a project that will make a real difference to people using the hospital.”
The garden preserves the site's history while providing a welcoming outdoor space that supports wellbeing, nature and the wider hospital community.
