Dobbies raises £235,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Dobbies Garden Centres has raised £235,000 in the first year of its national partnership with Alzheimer’s Research UK, more than triple the original target.

Launched in March 2025, the partnership supports the charity’s Think Brain Health campaign, highlighting gardening and garden living as beneficial for brain health.

David Robinson, Dobbies CEO, said: “Surpassing our fundraising target shows just how strongly this cause resonates with our communities. This support could fund over 5,500 hours of vital dementia research.”

Dr Sheona Scales, Director of Research at Alzheimer’s Research UK, added: “Almost one million people are living with dementia in the UK. Partnerships like this help us raise vital funds and awareness for brain health.”

Funds were raised through initiatives including an exclusive bulb pack, Christmas Shopping Night, online donations, colleague challenges, and Pennies micro-donations, raising over £69,000.

The second year will see new initiatives, including Walk for a Cure sponsorship, special plant donations, in-store events, and further colleague fundraising challenges.
