British Garden Centres (BGC) is proud to announce it has raised £20,000 for Garden Re-Leaf Day, supporting the Greenfingers Charity. The UK’s largest family-run garden centre group hosted a variety of fundraising events across its 72 stores, including raffles, cake sales, bingo nights, treasure hunts, sponsored walks, and cycling challenges.
Notable efforts included a 25km charity walk from Tring Garden Centre, a 25-mile bike ride, and a 16-mile sponsored walk by the Carr Gate team. A team from BGC’s head office also transformed the gardens at St Andrew’s Hospice in Grimsby, planting primroses to create a welcoming space for families.
Future fundraising events include a 650-mile virtual walk, a 10.3-mile Wolds Way walk, and various sponsored runs.
James Ducker, BGC Events Manager, said: “We are so proud of the entire BGC family for coming together to support Greenfingers Charity, which has been creating magical gardens for children in hospices for 25 years.”
Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising, added: “We deeply appreciate the generosity of BGC’s stores, teams, and customers. Their contributions help us create therapeutic green spaces for families to make cherished memories.”
