You will lead the sourcing and procurement of garden furniture, leisure accessories and Christmas/seasonal product.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll be working in a safe but fast paced environment, playing a significant role in product selection, development, negotiation and procurement.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sourcing high-quality, products directly from international factories and managing the end-to-end buying process. You will work out of our Head Office in Watlington, North of Henley, Oxfordshire, although we would consider a hybrid role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting new products and reviewing the current range of garden furniture and seasonal products suitable for our target market.
  • Forecasting upcoming demand and managing inventory levels to ensure we have sufficient stock for the required demand.
  • Budgeting and forecasting and working to a budget
  • Source products directly from international factories, current and developing new relationships with suppliers both nationally and internationally
  • Negotiating competitive prices, quantities, and delivery time-scales to ensure optimal profit margins
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to develop product content, descriptions, photography, and promotional strategies

This is a full time permanent role, although we would consider part time (4 day week) for the right candidate. The role will include some national and international travel.

The Individual:

  • 3+ years of experience as a retail buyer in outdoor living and or seasonal buying.
  • Proficient knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices
  • Proven experience of working with suppliers from the Far East and UK
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organised
  • Self-motivated with a 'can do’ attitude
  • Hardworking and able to work to set deadlines
  • Professional, positive, organised and enthusiastic approach
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms.
