Garden Centre Assistant Plant Manager.

Conkers Garden Centre is a family run business established in 1987.

Based on the outskirts of Basingstoke in a peaceful setting along the River Lyde.

The plant area is a good size, with a large canopied area, an inside area for temperate plants and a surrounding outside area that it shares with a vast range of plant containers.

They are looking for an experienced plant person to help run this area.

Duties will include helping with plant deliveries, standing plants out in the correct areas depending on their needs, keeping the plants watered and healthy. Maintaining the tables in down times, with a coat of paint and generally keeping the area looking smart and tidy. This is not a buying role. The plants are purchased by the owners. Customers will test your knowledge constantly and this is a huge part of the role, knowing your plants and how to care for them. The interview will consist of a plant identification test, so please only apply if this knowledge is in place.

In December the plant area sells fresh Christmas trees and this will be another role you will need to do.
It is a full time role. Working every Sunday 10-4.30. With Saturday and Tuesday as the two days off each week. Good rates of pay.
