We are actively looking to recruit an energetic Assistant Plant Manager.

As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will support the Horticulture manager in his responsibilities’ for running the plant department and managing the plant team, experience within a retail environment is preferred but not essential as passion for plants and a wiliness to learn is key. You can make a real difference from day one as you will be involved in driving sales, creating stunning and inspirational visual displays, managing stock levels, and motivating and developing your team.

You will gain a real sense of ownership over your department as you drive sales and profitability by maximising space productivity, replenishment, stock ordering and merchandising. The customer is the focus of everything we do, so you will ensure that they always receive an exceptional level of service.

To be the ideal candidate you will have experience in retail, preferred but not essential and a supervisory level within your current position. Good knowledge of plants and plant care. You will be a great communicator with an ability to inspire your team. You will have a great eye for detail with a creative edge to ensure our high retail standards are consistently maintained in terms of product placement and presentation.

This position will be suited to someone looking to progress to a Plant Manager role in the future.

Duties

  • Planning & supervising staff resources for daily running of the department.
  • Support the Horticultural Manager in the day-to-day duties of the department.
  • Ensuring all stock is clearly and accurately priced and always looking fresh
  • Ensuring a good level of customer sales and service is always offered.
  • Ordering of correct levels of stock so sales target is met, and wastage is kept to a minimum.
  • Working with management to ensure standards and sales are met.
  • Key holder and part of the duty management team.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have good plant knowledge with the wiliness to learn
  • Be a good communicator with a focus on customer service
  • Happy to work as part of a team or on your own initiative

This is a full-time position, including alternate weekends.
